and to think it all began with a DAFFODIL….

And to think it all began with an armload of Daffodils……

When I was a child ,   our front yard  ( of several acres) was a mass of yellow daffodils.   Thousands of the ruffly trumpeted narcissus lined the Pittsburgh Post Road that was a well worn beaten path that headed North Westward up and out of our yard.   That path lined in places both sides with a vast array of daffies , jonquils, grape hyacinths  and a variety of sticks and branches I found along my way to put into a vase.

I guess that is why when you ask what my favorite color is ,   it is Yellow.   As a young child ,   5 or 6 years old ,   I would pick them by the arm load,  I would come back to the house and stand at the sink gathering my finds into vases and jars .   After filling my favorites from my mom’s corner cupboard,  I would then fill our extras and take them to the neighbors.   Grandma Anzelmo wasn’t even a relative ,  she was a little neighbor lady that was bed ridden in our neighbors home .   I would sit with her and visit as I filled her bed stand with a loot of daffies.    The on to Mrs Guintz ,   and so on and so on ….. Until my pile of yellow sunshine was used up.

I love to think  of those times and reminisce in the beauty of God’s plan for our lives….. Makes me cry when I consider the travels of this life and see where I am now. Thank you Lord for bringing me to this moment when I can share sunshine with my friends…..  I am so very blessed.   Let me send some sunshine for you ,  call today !

I love how you refer to them as "piles of sunshine"! A perfect description! Daffodils are such a happy flower! Have a beautiful Friday Jenny!
